Goodnight Monkeys-video

This is an example of using KWS in a therapy session. Marnie uses sign and gesture to help this child maintain his attention and become more cooperative with an activity.  Throughout the activity, as signs/words are repeated, the child becomes much more engaged. Marnie uses signs (and sometimes waiting at the starting position of the sign) to cue him to the spoken word needed to participate in the activity. He starts initiating communication with both the spoken word and sign.  Marnie continues to support his language use when he leaves out key words, by repeating back what he has said and “being confused”.
